About Behavioral Psychology
An independent educational publication that explains behavioral science in plain, evidence-reviewed language.
What This Site Is
Behavioral Psychology is an independent educational publication. It exists for one reason: to make behavioral science understandable. The field is full of powerful ideas about how people learn, why habits form, and what drives behavior, but much of the writing around it is either too technical for a general reader or too simplified to be useful. This site aims for the middle ground: clear, readable articles grounded in real research.
Every article on this site is written for education. Nothing here is clinical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. You can read more about that in our disclaimer.
What We Cover
The publication covers the full landscape of behavioral psychology, from theory to practice:
- Foundations: the core ideas of the field, including classical and operant conditioning, reinforcement, and the behavioral perspective in psychology.
- Degrees: guides to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs in behavioral psychology, including online options.
- Careers: honest, sourced overviews of what behavioral psychology graduates can do, from applied behavior analysis to research, consulting, and industry roles.
- Applications: how behavioral principles show up in everyday life, education, workplaces, health, and public policy.
Who It Is For
This site is written for students deciding whether behavioral psychology is the right field for them, for career changers exploring a second act in the behavioral sciences, and for curious readers who want to understand why people do what they do. No background in psychology is required. When a term of art appears, it is defined in plain language the first time it is used.
How We Work
Every article is researched from reputable sources, reviewed by a human before publication, and written in the author's own words. Figures such as salaries and job growth come from named sources, typically the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics or published professional surveys. Opinions and analysis are always separated from reported facts. The full process is documented on our editorial standards page, and corrections are made openly when errors are found.
The Author
Behavioral Psychology is written by Hassam Shabbir, a psychologist, writer, and author. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Sargodha, has trained more than 400 professionals, and founded the nonprofit Rise Above Minds. He is not a licensed clinician, and the site's content is strictly educational.
